Eco friendly mining is being carried out by open pit operations with fully mechanized system. Blasting is completely avoided for taking care of environmental provisions by deploying Ripper-Dozer combination, Thereby avoiding fly rocks, production of dust and sound pollution, All the conditions indicated in the approved mining plan, as stipulated under the provisions of Mines Act and other provisions, are being duly followed even while stacking and loading. Water sprinklers are deployed for suppressing the dust besides, water tankers are deployed for spraying water for suppressing the dust while transporting the material from the mines to the stack yards situated within a radius of 15 kms from the mining area. Also, bypass roads are laid to avoid passing through villages in order not to cause inconvenience to the villagers. All the roads, including bypass roads, are maintained properly under the supervision of the identified crew and water is continuously sprinkled on the roads. besides covering the trucks with tarpaulins to avoid dust entering the atmosphere while transporting.

iron ore

Iron ores[1] are rocks and minerals from which metallic iron can be economically extracted. The ores are usually rich in iron oxides and vary in color from dark grey, bright yellow, deep purple, to rusty red. The iron itself is usually found in the form of magnetite

(Fe 3O 4, 72.4% Fe), hematite (Fe 2O 3, 69.9% Fe), goethite (FeO(OH), 62.9% Fe), limonite (FeO(OH).n(H2O)) or siderite (FeCO3, 48.2% Fe).

Ores containing very high quantities of hematite or magnetite (greater than ~60% iron) are known as "natural ore" or "direct shipping ore", meaning they can be fed directly into iron-making blast furnaces. Iron ore is the raw material used to make pig iron, which is one of the main raw materials to make steel. 98% of the mined iron ore is used to make steel.[2] Indeed, it has been argued that iron ore is "more integral to the global economy than any other commodity,

Metallic iron is virtually unknown on the surface of the Earth except as iron-nickel alloys from meteorites and very rare forms of deep mantle xenoliths. Although iron is the fourth most abundant element in the Earth's crust, comprising about 5%, the vast majority is bound in silicate or more rarely carbonate minerals. The thermodynamic barriers to separating pure iron from these minerals are formidable and energy intensive, therefore all sources of iron used by human industry exploit comparatively rarer iron oxide minerals, primarily hematite.

Environment Protection

 

  • The firm, under the supervision of experts, planted saplings in and around the mine and supplied saplings to the local population for planting to ensure that environment in the mine and the surrounding areas, is maintained.
  • The firm provides 5 water tankers for sprinkling water in the area of mine workings, stack yards, dumping yards and roads to suppress the dust.
  • The firm plants saplings on the slopes of benches in the mine for protecting the sides and improving the greenery.
  • The firm ensures that ecological balance, as stipulated under ISO standards in and around the mines as well as the road sides, is maintained.
  • The firm has set up a nursery within the mines area with the objective of planting 1 lakh saplings per annum in the mines as well as in the vicinity of the mines and for supply to the local population to improve the greenery.
  • The firm ensures that regular maintenance of machinery to avoid dust & noise pollution from the machine operations.
  • The firm strictly observes the stipulated norms indicated in the EC from the Ministry of Environment and Forest, Government of India.

Production and Transportation Facilities

 

The firm adopts open pit operation and has the infrastructure. such as manpower, machinery, equipments VIZ loaders, rock breakers, drilling equipment for bore hole sampling and trucks to supply two lakh tonnes per month. We have the pride place in introducing HINO trucks first time in India. Owned two Caterpillar loaders under EPCG license to promote exports. Two beneficiation plants, with the technological expertise provided by IBM. Bengaluru are working to upgrade the mineral to meet the needs of Abrasive & Alum Industry also for exporters. The Firm supplies 12 lakh tons per annum to different cement manufacturing companies in the States of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Odisha and Maharashtra.

Bulk of the material is transported by road to the consumers deploying trucks and loading is carried out by Caterpillar loaders. The firm maintains four stack yards at different places within a radius of 15 kms from the mines site, in order to meet the continuous supply of Laterite to different companies by road. A separate stack yard at Ravikampadu Railway Station is being maintained for meeting the requirement of material by the consumers by rail.
